What do you think of President Trump telling Kim Jong-Un he could have “the best hotels in the world” if he abandoned ballistic missiles and followed peace?
I think it was very smart negotiating on the President’s part. Kim has long been interested in building up the tourist trade in North Korea. Of course he doesn’t have the assets to do so, despite having built some resorts in NK.
Trump is a master hotel and resort builder, with both success and failure in the business he knows all the ins and outs. He also knows how to put Kim in tight with the best builders and organizers in the world. In addition to that the POTUS is in the position to open up a vast country to tourism in NK.
The President used one of his greatest professional strengths to play on one of Kim’s weaknesses and was able to integrate that into his negotiations for denuclearization and peace. It was a master stroke by a master negotiator, now how effective that will be in the long run we don’t know. The Chairman may have blown it off, but one would doubt it. Either way the President was able to find a common ground and exploit it, even if only briefly.
IMO everyone in America, if not the world should rest easier after the Singapore Summit. POTUS has proven that not only can he be a bull in a china shop he can also be cunning and charming if need be in negotiations.
We are in far far better shape on the issues involved with North Korea than we have during anytime during the tenures of the last 13 Presidents and thousands of world leaders.
